Introduction to Making Fermented Pickles

  • Sycamore Smyth 125 Lothair Road North London, England, N4 1ER United Kingdom (map)

Learn to make your own fermented pickles which are not only full of good-for-you probiotics but, more importantly, completely delicious.

This course will cover the the science and practicalities of creating your own lactofermented pickles. We’ll make sauerkraut, kimchi, preserved lemons, fermented hot sauce and seasonal pickles.

What’s included: All ingredients are provided as well as refreshments whilst you cook. You’ll get a recipe and info sheet to keep along with a digital version emailed to you afterwards. You’ll take home your pickles in reusable jars with full instructions on how to care for them as they mature as well as serving suggestions and recipes. There’ll also be the opportunity to enjoy a few things from my larder along with a glass of wine. It’s not a full dinner though so best have a snack beforehand.

There are a maximum of four people per class so it’s intimate and friendly with plenty of individual attention, tailored learning and time to ask questions.
